Even our youngest toddle across the bima. Jewish values and traditions emphasize not just love for our children, but intentional efforts to include them in our legacy as they grow to carry it forward. Our programs are designed to encourage their development as mensches (good people) who connect to Jewish+ life and contribute to their community – from the Center to Greater Miami and beyond.
Immersing and engaging students pre-b’mitzvah age in Jewish heritage, traditions and history.
Jewish culture begs us to think deeply and ask questions. We host discussions and engage in text-study, prayer, games, music, arts and crafts, Mitzvah days, and notably, multi-generational programming for the whole family. Students are divided into age groups as well as skill levels to meet individual learning needs.
The secret sauce is one part learning to two parts play and exploration. Programs empower the skills they have and develop their skills-in-progress, all while giving individualized support as they grow. Here, they’re practicing social skills, embracing Jewish values, developing relationships, and – most importantly – get to be kids!
Madeline Wilburn, The Center enrichment director, oversees all aspects of our summer camps.Maddie has a B.S. in Strategic Communication (Public Relations) from Flagler College, a B.S. inSpecial Education, Foundations, and Policy from Florida International University, and 4 years teaching experience as a USPTA Certified Tennis Professional. She also has taught as a first Grade Teacher at The Tikvah Center. We want to make summer camp as easy for parents as it is enjoyable for children:
We believe fun and play belong in a thriving Jewish+ life. Welcome to Camp Shemesh.
